John Held

John Held grew up outside Philadelphia and came to faith in Jesus Christ while serving as a medic in the United States Army.

Following his military service, John received his bachelor’s degree in Biblical Theology (1985) and, later, his master’s degree in Biblical History (1994).

John oversees the vision, direction, and ministries of Living Way Church. His primary areas of responsibility include preaching and teaching, leadership training, counseling, and oversight of the small group and outreach ministries. John and his wife Florrie have seven children.

Sam Cotten

Sam Cotten joined the pastoral staff as an Associate in July 2012, moving from South Carolina, where he graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, with a Masters degree in Old Testament studies.

Sam’s primary area of oversight is the family life ministries of Living Way, especially the children’s ministry.

He desires to see families built around the Gospel of Jesus Christ, including thriving marriages and flourishing children.

Sam was pastor at Bethel Church in Angier, NC for 7 years. He received his bachelors degree from Erskine College in South Carolina, where he also met his lovely and talented wife, Martha Margaret. They have four children.
